Custom Query to report wire Part # and MC # in a single column
We have a requirement for our wire table to display the wire part# or the multicore part# within in single column. Currently the wire table displays in two different columns.
I have created a custom Query and not working, here is what I have written
Notice the wire part # appears but not the Multicore part #.
Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated.

DX Designer discreet comp. value
The discreet components symbol that I downloaded from PartQuest is showing the value in farads instead of uf eg. 0.0000047 farad instead of 4.7uf. The same thing with the resistor value 5600 Ohm instead of 5.6K. Is there anyway to change this globally in DataBook or is there any setting I should use when importing from PartQuest?

Restricting modify access to the VeSys database
Hello,
I am currently trying to restrict modify access to our VeSys database to all but 6 users. What would be the suggested method for doing this? I have tried creating a new user under Tools > Edit Users, but I can't seem to log on to the new account I create. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Let me explain any one how to control the decimal place in PADS Layout.For example (100.00mil or 2.540mm) maintain in allegro (mil or MM ) but i worked across the pads l never seen like that even i worked lot of boards some time decimal units varying

Problem with .drl after loading in gerbv
Hi,
I have a problem after loading gerber files and drils file in gerbv. After changing file format to Trailing (zero_supression), inch (units) and 2 (digits) holes from drill file are shifted. Below is the image. In CAM in device properities for NC Drills setings are:
Output Type-ASCII,
Units-English,
#of Digits Leading-2 Trailing 4
Zero Suppress-Trailing
Coordintes-Absolute
What's the problem. My Pads Layout version is 9.4.

HKP File will not import into Library at mirror site
Has anyone an idea on how to fix the following problem, we have created a part in our library and exported it to a hkp file.
We have then sent this file to our mirror site (in china) for them to import into there copy of the library.
(for adding a few parts or cells this (used to be) a better way than keep sending complete libraries).
Now when they try to import parts (or cells) they get errors where usually it says unknown keyword - attached is file for latest parts showing error.
This method used to work find in 7.9.1 version of the software - but seems to now be a problem when we are all using VX 1.1 (Expedition Flow)
Because the hkp files are encrypted I cannot double check to see if the keyword in present or not.
Any ideas on how to fix this or what to check etc.

Query to Replace Terminal Part# with Termianl BOM ID
I want to replace the Term PN with BOM_ID's due to our business process.
I would like to know if a query can be written to pull the generated BOM_ID for the Terminal in a separate custom column.

PARTQUEST no longer functional
PartQuest was a useful tool when first used in VX1.1. Was able to download, unzip footprints from Digikey and open in Pads layout and add to libraries. Then I upgraded to VX1.2 a few months back. Have only recently discovered that PartQuest is no longer functional. Can still download parts and unzip from Digikey, but cannot open using "Tools: Import PartQuest Parts" in Pads Layout. Error message "Windows cannot access specific device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access item".
Put in an SR(#2846049879) on Support Net. While waiting for resolution from Mentor, decided to post here to see if anyone else has had this issue and have recommendations. I already tried release switcher back to VX1.1(did not fix issue) and uninstalling PartQuest from system and reinstalling PartQuest(still did not fix issue). Not sure what else to do at this point. Worse case scenario, I would contemplate uninstalling all Mentor products and then reinstalling, but concerned of other issues arising from this "brute force" method.
Any feedback would be greatly aprreciated.

Symbol library import error
Hello,
I have below error while importing symbol library, can anyone help me to understand the issue.
Import Symbol Library Error. The file Symbol_library.xml is not a valid Symbol Library file. Attribute "baseid" must be declared for element type "propertiedtext".

I have created a new User Property which I have defined as having a limit of 60 characters and 3 lines. If the first line is only 20 characters how do I get it to move to the next line?

Setting a PCB heat flux
Hi! I'm currently using FloTHERM XT as part of my master thesis in thermal simulation. I've successfully imported and set all powers individually on components after filtering the smaller ones out in the FloEDA Bridge, however, I can't seem to find any option to set a board-wide general heat flux that would compensate for the filtered out components. Any idea how I can do this?

PARTQUEST Problems
Still not resolved. After upgrading to VX1.2, part quest no longer functional. Uninstalled and reinstalled PartQuest did not help. Uninstalled VX1.1 and VX1.2, clean boot then reinstalled VX1.2 only. Import part quest from tools menu linked directly to website, downloaded but cannot open *.pqz file. Installed recommended Partquest integration tool for Designer and original error(see image) returns. Ran Mentor's install program to verify installation and see these errors(see partquest error doc). This problem is also on websupport under ServiceRequest # 2846049879.
Any ideas or recommendations? This tool was helpful initially when it was first working in VX1.1.

Query for Column with Wire and Outer MC name

Below is query which gives out names for wire/MC ID in the same column. But for Multi core, only the outer MC ID should be visible.
In below table within Red Box only MC1 should be visible.
Want to know IF conditions can be created within query?

Newbie help: General setup of model in FloTHERM XT
Hi!
I'm currently trying to set up a model in FloTHERM XT where I have a PCB ready for import through .idf format. Everything goes great, but I'm getting weird values when comparing to measurements. How should I set up the model if I am to analyse a PCB with heat sources inside an air-tight enclosure? I'm interested in some surface goals on the components to match against my measurements. The simulation is meant to be rough to see the possibility of using it in early design, so the enclosure is to be a simple box, with a PCB inside.
EDIT: In this enclosure, I also have a heat pad that engulfs the components on the back of the PCB, which is then connected to an aluminum back plate. How do I model this without errors in solving as the meshing complains at this moment. I've done this as a cuboid with a set thermal conductivity now. Is there a way to do this with a TIM instead?

line sim via 3d modeling
I modeled a differential via in line-sim using 3D via modeling
while viewing 3D model it manually assigns ports as +1,-1,+2 and -2
Are these ports correct why it is not assigned as 1,2,3,4 like in board-sim.

xDx Designer script to automatically propagate block name as Cluster property to components
The add_cluster scripts add cluster properties to all components of a hierarchical design.
The script uses the block "Name" of a hierarchical block symbol and puts that name to all componens underneath.
It works recursive, so lower level hierarchy blocks get e.g. Cluster=Memory/Upper. Therefore also the resulting planning groups in xPCB are hierarchical.
