Are there any options or workaroud for exceptted errors touching with symbol outline and nets?
We would like to ignore such a case.

I need do a proect required using the CAP-H and capital logic and integrator.
But I just have one server and 2 clients.
how can i build the environment ?
would it be make error install both of them in a server or client?
who has such expirence and willing to share?
It seems that Mentor Graphics have lost the last change to get back in Signal Integrity and Power Integrity for ever while Ansys, Cadene, Keysight are renewing thier stuff. I don't know what exactly Mentor team think about Hyperlynx. However, I think following items Mentor Graphics may take
1) Mergere Hypelrynx and Hyperlynx DRC A new GUI and API framework is a must.
2) Add Flo.pcb into Hyperlynx. Ansys Siwave now have icepack solver in Siwave.
3) refine Nimbic(accuracyand speed) technologies and the interface for ECAD data
4) Accqures Simbeor to provide a fast GHZ channel synthesis solution.
5) refine integration between XpeditonPCB and Hyperlynx .

I 'm new on this forum so hello everybody!
I'm having an issue with a hierarchy design on xDX Designer VX.1:
I have a block which is using a slot from a 54HC14 (smicht trigget inverter) and i need to use several instances of this block, each of them using a different slot of the same Reference, but when I try to change the slot in a instance (using the command "pdbslot") it changes every instances.
In other design I did it with another component and with no problem so i know it is possible but i don't know what is the difference between both designs or components, anyone knows?
Thanks in advance!
To do a proper Review of a PCB it is essential that there is a cross probing functionality between DxDesigner and Autoactive PCB Browser.
What do you think or how do you do your Layout reviews ?
in me opinion:
- the visECAD viewer is not a usefull tool to do a review- We can`t affort an expensive PCB License just for engineers to do reviews.

Christopher
Hello everybody! I'm looking to set up a dynamic link between ADS and expedition PCB of Mentor but I haven't been able to do it yet. The problem is that when I try to connect Expedition with the ADS server an error pops up: connecting to [localhost:4001] ... failed
cannot connect to [localhost], needs license atpadsim. I thought that I had all of the licenses for Expedition PCB and I don't know which one is the one that I don't have. could it be an ADS license problem? Maybe I have to activate some license that I don't have there?
Has anyone dealt with this kind of issues?
Ty very much!
Can you please put the XCKU115-2FLVF1924I into the current Vx1.1 Library Release?
I was informed it was possible to set up a PC so that a user could Run a 2-Tier Setup pointing to a common Database (on a server) shared by other users AND also set up a 1-Tier installation of VeSys so that the User could also work Independently (but NOT concurrently) of the shared Database. This would be for confidential reasons some projects need to be local to the Engineering group using that PC.
From the instructions given I wrote the following procedure, but it does not seem to work. Has anybody else done this Setup and if so how was it made to work? I need to get this working ASAP. Thanks for your Feedback.
Regards,
Brian.
VESYS - Setup of Tier 2 and Tier 1 on same machine
STEP 1:
Install Tier 2 Manager as normal on server location.
Change the Port Numbers from default (49902 / 6) to something different eg: 49910 / 11
Important: Ensure a Client can connect to this 2 Tier DB Server
Make a copy of the clientprop.xml from the Tier 2 system
STEP 2:
Install Tier 1 on the Client Machine as normal
Set the Client Machine Services to Manual so that they do not Auto Start on power up.
Take the copy of the clientprop.xml from the Tier 2 system and rename it “server1_clientprops.xml”
Place this in the local Client Machine C:\MentorGraphics\VeSys\config
Rename the clientprops.xml for the Tier 1 system to “server2_clientprops.xml”
STEP 3:
You can then create two shortcuts to launch the respective VeSys installations; (not 100% sure where this switch should be entered).
1. C:\MentorGraphics\VeSys\bin\VeSys.exe –clientprops=server1_clientprops.xml
2. C:\MentorGraphics\VeSys\bin\VeSys.exe –clientprops=server2_clientprops.xml
Remember, before launching the ‘Server2’ executable you will have to Start the Manager Service and Close it down once you have completed working in this mode.

Can we do Nyquist plot using Mentor Graphics ? If Yes, please provide a document specifying the steps.. Thanks in advance..
Please note I have the license file in the server machine which has OS as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. I have successfully installed Mentor Graphics (PYXIS v 10.2) in my client machine that has OS Fedora 21.
The chronology of commands that I give while making the license up for my client machine is as follows :
csh
source ams.cshrc --> and it shows MENTOR TOOLS ENVIRONMENT , proving correct installation of PYXIS v10.2
lmgrd
lmstat
Now on executing lmstat, after a while it shows the following message that indicates that the networking between the client and server machine is not done :
10:06:37 (lmgrd) "localhost.localdomain": Not a valid server hostname, exiting.
10:06:37 (lmgrd) Valid license server system hosts are: "apsara"
10:06:37 (lmgrd) Using license file "1717@apsara"
Error getting status: Cannot find license file. (-1,71)
Please note we have provided the required DNS, Routing addresses. But the same problem persists.
Please provide a solution ASAP.
While running the simulation with the extracted netlist with parasitics (by running pex in layout), the simulation is being failed with lots of error.
Please find the report.tex file as an attachment to see the errors i am getting in the log file while simulating the inverter with the dspf with rcc.
the layout has been already checked with DRC and LVS successfully.
I'm attempting to start the license server on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine and I receive the following error:

I work for a medical device company. We design and manufacture medical devices. We are considering PADS PCB Design software for our engineers. I had a question that I hope you can help me with. I've looked online, but haven't found any info thus far.
As with other regulated fields, since we are a medical device manufacturer, there are guidelines and requirements we must follow with the Food and Drug Administration, namely 21 CFR Part 11.
21 CFR Part 11 is defined as:
"Part 11, as it is commonly called, defines the criteria under which electronic records and electronic signatures are considered trustworthy, reliable, and equivalent to paper records (Title 21 CFR Part 11 Section 11.1 (a))."
Is PADS software, 21 CFR Part 11 compliant or following regulated standards?
Thanks for your help!!
I have a couple of users who for some reason is now required to enter username and password when starting PADS Layout.
PADS Logic and PADS Router does not require this.
It reacts in the same way as if it was invoked wih "Run as Administrator". But it is not.
Anyone else experienced this?
Also I don't have any specific new software I can see that both users have installed recently.
ne of the users uninstalled PADS and reinstalled it again - same result.
It is quite weird.
All the other users do not have this problem (yet - anyway).
regards
Klaus
Hi,
This may be an easy question, but it is causing us fits. We are using DxDesigner VX.1 and Pads Layout VX.1.
Scenario:
We recently had a board almost completely finished and ready for a final review. As librarian, I modified the silkscreen on an IC so that the Pin1 marker was a label and not a graphic (so we can move it in the layout). When my board designer did a forward annotation to update the library, the IC was ripped up along with all the routed tracks and was left with a rat's nest.
Why? Nothing changed in the part that would require a reroute. We've tried gluing the part and protecting all routes. Neither works. There has got to be a way to do this without losing a day's work everytime.
BTW, we are new to PADS.
Thanks,
LarryG
Through hole components holes do not get exported into step files PCB assembly (PADS 3D export).
Mounting holes do show up in model
Is there a fix for this?
As a service bureau I work for many different companies. At times am asked to supply the library created for that company while working on their jobs so they can use it in future designs that go to other layout people or companies. My question is how can I supply the 3D model mapping for the parts used only in their designs and how can this be imported by another PADS user? Have not been asked yet but certainly know one company will ask me soon since I cannot do all their work alone. It is a lot of work to map and align the 3D models, work which they paid to have done, and in my mind should be able to get a return on that investment. Currently see no way for this to happen so hopefully the Mentor Graphics people can help.
Do like the 3D feature of PADS and have found it useful. What I find tiresome is how the parts are mapped and aligned. Is there a file which has this information that can be edited and if so what is needed to do so?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
I'd like to create a dynamic named DRC run directory when loading Calibre Interactive. For example, a run directory output folder with the following naming format:
<layoutviewname_date>
I currently source a runset file before opening Cadence Virutoso and Calibre Interactive GUI. When the Calibre interactive GUI opens, I'd like the DRC Run Directory to have the above format (and have this set in my runset file). I am unsure though how to grab the layout viewname in the runset. Is there an environment variable that captures the view name? Or is there another workaround I can use to achieve a directory name like this? My current runset using the following setting:
*drcRunDir: cal_drc
So I'd like the outputs to go to "cal_drc/<layoutviewname_date>" rather than just <cal_drc>
I am currently using Calibre Interactive v2015.4_24.16.
Thanks for the help,
Rachel
