Is it possible to search for multiple of parts at the same time? In other words, I would like to upload a BOM into the PART QUEST search rather than one part number at a time.

DX Designer discreet comp. value
The discreet components symbol that I downloaded from PartQuest is showing the value in farads instead of uf eg. 0.0000047 farad instead of 4.7uf. The same thing with the resistor value 5600 Ohm instead of 5.6K. Is there anyway to change this globally in DataBook or is there any setting I should use when importing from PartQuest?

Error in evaluation guide
I'm working on the Xpedition Evaluation Guide and am currently on page 156 where the steps are as follows:
❶ Open Xpedition xPCB Layout.
❷ Select File > Open, then browse to
C:\Xpedition_Evaluation\Lesson2\PCB , then double‐click
CORPORATE.pcb.
❸ Select Setup > Setup Parameters...
When I execute step 3, I get a pop up error saying:
"The test point cellname stored in the JobPrefsDB ('ICT_TP_SMD_030RD_NSP'), does not exist in the CellDB for this job."
Any idea how I can solve this error?

Opening the schematics with the DxDesigner tool issue
Hi,
I installed the Mentor DxDesigner tool in my new laptop and assigned the network tool license correctly.
I am able to open the DxDesigner mentor tool correctly from the Start/All programs/Mentor graphics SDD/Design entry/Dxdesigner.
I am getting the error message as attachment while creating new project or existing project.
Please let us know how to resolve this issue?

DMS VX1.2 Part Status Restriction
Hi All,
I am looking for an option to restrict some group of users to update the part status in DMS.
We need to restrict DMS User & DMS librarian to change the part from D to A or X, but they should have permission to change all other fields the component.

eDXD view control
Is there any way of controlling the view size in eDXD when selecting a part in xPCB? Appreciate that you want to 'find' the component, but without resizing around the symbol in eDXD would surely be better - leaving at full view would be handy, but still selected.

Converting PCB from PADS 9.3 to PADS 9.2
Hello All ,
I have a PCB designed in pads 9.3 .
I want to make the design compatible for pads 9.2 but design is not getting translated .
It shows the message ' Job is not compatible with current version of program ' .
Also pads 9.3 is not available with us .
So please suggest any method of getting my PCB start working on Pads 9.2 .

Mentor License question
We are running version 2005 of Mentor Graphics on an old HPUX system. I need to move the license server from HPUX to a Windows 2008 server. When I install the license server and configure per the video on this site, the license server fails to start. I suspect it may be due to version 2005 of the license server not being supported on Windows 2008? Can someone help we trouble shoot?

Capital 2015.1 in OS Windows 8.1
Hello all,
These days I start to use OS of Windows 8.1. Then I find some interfaces are very weird. Below is the screenshot.
Obviously, font of commands within the red rectangle is smaller than those existing in title bar. This situation happens in many places.
Is there a solution to it?

UGS NX5 Integration videos
Hi Guys
Does anyone has a presentation or some videos demonstrating the integration between VeSys 2.0 to UGS. Acutally, I am looking for transferring the wiring data from VeSys 2.0 to UGS NX5, back transfer the wiring data (which includes the wire length) to VeSys Design and transfer the harness data to VeSys Harness. I have to demonstrate these to the customer and I don't have an idea on this feature. Please help me in this regards

Xpedition VX - Backdrill analysis
Hello All,
I stopped with a problem in back-drill analysis, I need to do back drill for a through hole component pin (Its like a press fit, so no issues in back-drilling this particular through hole comp) so I ran it through back-drill analysis but it shows the back drill side from both side of the board.
This led to confusions on side of back drill. Any help on fixing side of back drill for through-hole components.
Here is an example for you, a signal routed on layer 3 and its a through hole pin but after the back drill analysis it shows both side of the board.

Custom properties
I'd like to make custom properties on library parts that are editable.
For example, I have a symbol in a library. I want to add a FOO property
to the symbol that is editable by users of that symbol.
If I just do this, users won't be able to use the FOO property in the symbol
till they run the properties definition editor and add this FOO property to
the list in C:/.../standard/netlist.prp.
Is there any way I can create a local version of netlist.prp that's
automatically associated with a library? Alternatively, is there some
way to make a preconfigured project template that has a pointer
to a local netlist.prp -- that way my users can simply start with this template and get
the right properties list. Or is there a place that DxD looks for a local version
of netlist.prp that overrides the C: version? Or can I set a KEY in a .prj file
pointing to this customized Z:/path/netlist.prp? I want DxD to use some other propeties
list along with my libraries, but I don't want to force people to jump through
hoops. What's the simplest way for users to use libraries that have custom properties
on an un-customized installation of DxD.
What I _cant_ do is alter the default installation of DxD which is controlled by our
IT app deployment people, so I can't edit C:/Mentor... in any way. I can give my users template
projects and files that live other places than C:, but I can't deploy this on C:

adding Name property to link components with double click in xDx VX1.1

I am missing a really useful feature available in DxDEsign in EE795.
This is useful when getting portions of schematics from other designers from different design teams with different project settings with respect to yours.
In order to quickly assigning Name property to a link component (e.g. offsheet, onsheet) which was left void, you could select the netname property of the net attached to the link special component and, then, assigning simply by clicking onto the link symbol.
I am no longer able to do the same in xDx with VX11. is it a fail or mine or had the feature gone?
Would it be possible to restore it for next updates? It was very very useful to me
I am aware I could change the setting to "automatically propagate the name property" , select all onsheet/offsheet/bidir symbol page by page, disconnect and reconnect for getting automatically the proper assign, but it is more useful to me navigating and fixing the missing names manually (believe or not).
is there any way of automation I can create for getting it?

Adding Vias and Changing the Active Layer in Plow
In Plow it was easy adding vias and changing the active layer by entry only the number of the layer. Now the functionality is lost.
Where is the menue, or on what menue can I change it to get this functionality back.

Central Lib Partition reserve issue?
Not sure if this is an issue or just the way it works?
If I choose to edit a decal by opening it from xDM Library Tools, great it opens and I can edit it fine, I then want to open another decal
and make a change. I then from within Decal editor choose File/Open from there and i get the error message
"Unable to reserve Central Library partition. You can update reservation in xDM Library Tools."
If I click OK the decal still opens & I can still save the decal.
Question is this really an issue?
If it is, I'm guessing that means I would need to either open each decal I need to edit from xDM Library Tool (very slow process!!!!) Or if I choose to
keep opening decals after the first one from decal editor I would need to go back out to xDM Library Tool and reserve the partition for the decal I am editing somehow???
Again very cumbersome?
Searched but did not see anything related to his particular partition issue?
